Iran border guards kill Pakistanis

 According to Pakistani officials, at least six Pakistanis have been shot by Iran border guards and died. Two Pakistanis has been injured after they crossed the border. 
 The men that were killed and wounded were livestock traders.
 The Pakistani officials say the affair happened on Friday (January 27, 2012), on the side of Iran of the border.
 The injured men and the cadavers of the six men, are not still passed to Pakistan government.
 "The Iranian border forces shooted guns, six of them died and two others were injured," Mujeebur Rehman, a local police of the port town of Gwadar said.
 Before this incident happened, Pakistani police confined three Iranian border guards after they allegedly crossed the border, and opened fire, killing a Pakistani man in a care they had been chasing. (This happened earlier this month.)

Canadian skier, Sarah Burke's death

                                       
January 19, Sarah Burke(29), a Canadian freestyle skier passed away. Sarah Burke passed away after the injury(January 10), during a training run in Park City, Utah.
 Sarah Burke, had suffered a cardiac arrest. A cardiac arrest is the cessation of normal circulation of the blood due to failure of the heart to contract effectively. Burke has also suffered ruptured vertebral artery that led to intercranial bleeding.
 The tests showed that Sarah Burke had suffered "irreversible damage to her brain due to lack of oxygen and blood after cardiac arrest," a statement from the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association. The statement added "The family reveals their heartfelt thankfulness for the international outpouring of assistance they've got from all the people Sarah touched."
 Sarah's organs and tissues will be donated to save the lives of others, following her wishes.

How much sugar do Americans eat a day?

 How much sugar do you think that Americans eat a day? A U.S. expert says that U.S. adults consume 22.2 teaspoons of sugar a day which is 355 calories.
 A food industry analyst says the recommended amount of sugar for women (that has an energy necessity of 1800 calories per day) is less than 100 calories, or 6.25 teaspoons-from added suger. Additionally, a man with a requirement of 2200 calories for a day should intake no more than 120 calories or 9.4 teaspoons-from added sugar.
 Added sugar is thought "discretionary calories": they are connected to obesity, high blood pressure, high triglycerides and cardiovascular disease. (American Heart Assocation)
 Since reducing the amount of sugar can reduce weight, trying to limit sugar consumption will be beneficial.
 Also, Lempert advices that eating as many as fresh foods and minimally managed foods as possible with little or none added sugar. And if there's an added sugar try to find a product that doesn't list it in the ingredients.

According to Chinese zodiac, 2012 is the Year of the Dragon. Furthermore, it is the year of Black Dragon that only comes once in 60 years. On the year of Black Dragon, you would like to visit South Korea. These are some reasons why you should visit Korea.

1. It is Visit Korea year

Visit Korea year is a two year campaign. Its motive is making more travelers come to Korea and make Korea more friendly to them. The campaign started in 2010 and 2012 is the final year of the campaign. There are special favors for tourists visiting Korea during Visit Korea year: coupons, KTX discounts(up to 30%), free bus shuttles and hotel deals.

2. Korea Grand Sale


Technically Korea Grand Sale is a part of the Visit Korea Year campaign however, its grandiosity merits its own group. Korea Grand Sale is a little different from some of the other promotional discounts. The Korea Grand Sale is not just saving few money.
The Grand Sale will start with a welome event for a week at Incheon International Airport. The welcome event will begin on January 9. However the genuine opening celebration will be on January 13(DOOTA Shopping Mall in Dongdaemun):performances, prize draws, celebrities will be shown in the opening celebration.

3. K-POP


  On January 19, 2012, the 21st Seoul Music Awards will be held at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, which will be the K-Pop event of the year. If you think you can dance well, you can enter the competition and submit a video of yourself dancing to a designated K-Pop song(K-Pop Cover Dance Festival).
 Also, K-Drama is famous so you would like to visit filming locations of dramas.

4. Celebrating food

At the 2012 Korea Food Festival(Jeonju), the city became famous for its appealing and delectable cooks, and home of Jeonju bibimbap.

5. Expo in Yeosu

The expo will deal with issues considering not only the sea, but also marine technology and sustainable facilities. However we may all understand the fact that the United States' connection in this Expo.
 There are some other attractive things in Yeosu. The Expo will present amazing and wonderful interactive displays, film screenings, and displays housed in weird and awesome buildings.
